On August 1st, we were delighted to celebrate the launch of The MUA SOCIAL, our new social network for makeup artists and makeup enthusiasts, https://www.themuasocial.com/ at the popular restaurant and bar Neighbourhood, in Spinningfields, Manchester.
We developed the website in collaboration with four Manchester-based professional makeup artists: Janine Dixon, Sarra Slimane, Franke Noone and Samantha Greenwood. The idea behind The MUA SOCIAL, is that it is a social hub for makeup artists to share tips, give product reviews and to help educate users – all of which is brought together in one place and is delivered in an easily digestible package. Before this website, there was not really anywhere for makeup enthusiasts to congregate and share ideas. As makeup is such a personal and individual thing, a unique platform like this, to share ideas, is something that makeup enthusiasts have been crying out for and with its continued growth, will be greatly appreciated. Much like the professional makeup artists, users themselves can also create and customise their own profiles, create content and share it too – helping create a community that has a genuine passion for all things makeup related.
In each of the girls’ careers, they have worked with clients such as pop star Pixie Lott, along with a tireless list of celebrities, with their work also featuring in the likes of: Loose Women, The Only Way is Essex and The Real Housewives of Cheshire. Client of Sarra Slimane, The Real Housewives of Cheshire star, Missé Beqiri was a VIP guest at the launch. Attending the event too, was Coronation Street star Tupele Dorgu, as well as Carla Kompany – the wife of Manchester City defender, Vincent Kompany. The girls at the event were seen enjoying makeovers and makeup tips. The Swedish Supermodel and wife of former Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard, Missé will be the subject of one of the very first makeup tutorial videos that will appear on the website.
Their range of knowledge and contacts they have in the industry is immeasurably vast and by pooling their talents, with a confident technical team behind them, we have a very interesting project on our hands and it is something we can genuinely get excited about.
